My name is Dark Qiviut, fanfiction writer and artist.
When it comes to art, I like to paint landscapes and draw on a piece of scrap paper. My most favorite scenes I like to paint are winter scenes and seascapes. I haven't drawn a lot since 2006, but thanks to various art college courses, my skills appear to replenish and not look as rusty as previously.
Now, as for writing, I like to write fanfiction, and I've written at least one fanfic in three fandoms: Digimon, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Sonic the Hedgehog. My plan is to write fanfics three other fandoms (hopefully full-time): Thomas & Friends, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Yu-Gi-Oh GX, with the hope of maybe approaching Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's, S-Cry-Ed, and Monster Rancher. I love writing fanfiction from a first-person point-of-view, mostly because I like to go deep into a character's mind and wonder what they're thinking.
But what are my goals of fanfic writing? Well, one is to write something that not just pleases myself, but for the audience who likes to read my stuff. Unlike some writers, I feel an audience is important to success, because without readers, your fics may not garner much attention, and humans have a tendency to yearn for attention.
I'm a nitpicky, but nice critic. Unlike most of the fandom purists I've seen, I'm not someone who bites and insults when it comes to me critiquing parts of your work. If you want to ask me to review to your work in order to help you, feel free to tell me. I'm more than happy to review your work and give you some tips. And when I write a critique, I comment on the story's positives first, and then review what I feel needs fixing and provide possible suggestions to mend the problems. If you what to disagree with what I wrote, I'm all for it, and, in fact, I'm happy if there are people who are brave enough to disagree with my suggestions. I'm disappointed that reviewers want to make writers act like yes-people and agree with them with little or no conflict.
If you want to ask me to join any fanfiction sporking or author-bashing community, you're looking at the wrong guy. I'm not someone who likes to mock people and/or fanfiction and never will. Sporking only creates tension between writers of "bad" fanfiction and "good" fanfiction, leading to possible flame wars and prejudice. The same goes for any ranting community. I will not join them, whether you want me to or not. I stand by my own beliefs that everyone has the right to write what they want, even though I might not agree with them.
Lastly, I do plan on writing fanfiction that breaks the canon boundaries (especially the Digimon 02 and Yu-Gi-Oh GX canons). Whenever I do so, to canon purists, chances are you won't like what I write. *evil laugh*
That's all right now. Dark Qiviut signing out.
